Formed in 1996, the Vandermark Five is one of Chicago's best-known, most influential, and longest-standing jazz bands. Putting themselves on the map with their legendary Tuesday night residency at Chicago's Empty Bottle from 1996 - 2005, the band now works mostly on the road in Europe and North America.  As the main workshop for Vandermark's prolific work as a composer, the band's sound continues to evolve in new ways.  kenvandermark.com
